    Human rights: programs for empowering women in the legal field are guaranteed by the Kingdom's regulations​

    The Director-General of the Human Rights Commission Branch in the Eastern Region, Nawal Bint Refaat Al-Bawardi, said that the most prominent goals of the legal empowerment program for women are to raise awareness and spread the culture of human rights and to highlight the most important and most prominent images of women's empowerment in the legal field, which are guaranteed by the Kingdom’s regulations.​

    Al-Bawardi explained during the Tuesday meeting organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Business Women Center on the evening of Tuesday 9 June 2020, entitled "Legal Empowerment of Women in Personal Status Cases", that the regulations in force in the Kingdom attached great importance to women, in which many of them devoted articles related to the nature of women From filing a lawsuit, and even obtaining and applying judgments, especially those related to personal status issues, including preventing women from marrying, proof, divorce, annulment, dislocation, custody, and alimony​.

    Al-Bawardi indicated some issues that entail certain procedures, such as divorce, that the spouses must attend the court to resolve the matter and discuss the custody of the children, and alimony, provided that an executive document is issued with what is agreed upon between the two parties, but if the husband refuses to appear before the court to prove the divorce, then for the court Bring him by force, and he may be referred to the competent authority to file a criminal case against him, whenever there is evidence that the wife was harmed, as a result of the delay in proving the divorce, and the procedure will be taken after informing him of the attendance.​​

    On the issues of the annulment of marriage, which means the solution to the conjugal marriage of its origin, and is by virtue of the judge, it is only if there is a reason that necessitates or permits it, such as the insolvency of the husband and his inability or failure to alimony, or if the wife requests the annulment of the contract or the presence of a defect in one of the spouses requires repugnance Between them, in addition to denouncing the husband for his wife, which denies affection and mercy.​

    Al-Bawardi talked about khula, which is defined as the divorce of the wife herself, on the condition that she return the dowry or part of what the husband gave her, provided that the husband is without defects or without issuing abuse to her, and he must be compensated, i.e. in return for a payment paid by the wife, so It is not in return for a divorce on the part of the husband.

    It also showed the most prominent details of the alimony fund, which assumes several tasks according to the fourth article of the alimony fund system, which is: Paying alimony to someone who has been given a judicial ruling for their entitlement, and who has not been executed except for an insolvency excuse, according to the procedures determined by the regulations, and spending it to someone who has been issued a judicial order in it His claim is still pending before the court, in accordance with the procedures determined by the regulations, and the payment of a temporary expense to the beneficiary before the issuance of a ruling on alimony, in accordance with procedures determined by the Council, provided that the fund retrieves it from the amounts due to the beneficiary under the alimony ruling, and if he decides to refuse the alimony, he must return what Disbursed to him from the fund within two months from the date of the peremptory judgment, and indicated that the fund has taken the necessary legal measures to recover what was spent if that period expired without refunding it, and requiring everyone who assumed the fund to pay the expense due to him to recover what was disbursed, by replacing the beneficiary with the fund In demanding the implementation of the judicial ruling.​
